I want to adopt…what should I expect?

When we take in a dog, we try to gather as much history as possible. We encourage owners to be truthful, as a non destruct rescue, we will try to help no matter what the situation but we need to know the whole story, to ensure the safety of our foster families, to ensure that any health issues are dealt with and to ask for advise from our behaviourist if necessary.

once the dog has left the previous owner, they will be placed in fostwe

our foster homes are essential, they are the key to finding the right place for each dog. They give us all the information we need, if the dogs are housetrained, if they are happy to be left alone, if they are sociable with people and other pets etc. This then enables us to match them to a suitable adoptive home.

So, when your dog arrives, we have already tried to make sure things will go as smoothly as possible. We will have made sure that your circumstances should be compatible with the needs of that particular dog.

Obviously, this isn’t fool-proof and things can go wrong, dogs are living beings and we can’t predict exactly how they’ll be but we try our best to make things as smooth as possible.

your dog will have been neutered before coming to you, sometimes they will need a follow up at the vets but usually that’s all completed before adoption.

We are always on hand to give advise but we do ask that all adopters read our guide to owning a rescue dog before contacting us.

We do also ask that our adopters keep in touch. We like to think of our dogs as being part of the Boycie’s Bridge family and we love to see their progress and happy lives, we also share that with our followers.
